Join Sammy, the rodent detector dog, as he sniffs around the Falkland Islands for rats!

Rodents were introduced to the Falklands by man and cause problems for ground-nesting birds. In recent years efforts have been made to stop the spread of rodents to islands they haven't reached and to eradicate them from islands they have colonized.

Great and Tickle islands were eradicated in 2016 and to confirm their status as rodent-free, Samurai took a trip out with his handler.

This programme was broadcast on Falklands Radio on September 15, 2020.
