Amy joined Falklands Radio at the start of 2025 as a broadcast journalist after working for Falkland Islands Television (FITV) previously.
Having graduated from a degree in Journalism and Creative Writing in 2023, she came to the Falkland Islands for a career in journalism but also for a taste of life on a beautiful, remote island. Amy’s favourite part of living in the Falklands is the friendly community, which made Falklands Radio the perfect place to work, being at the heart of it all.
During her time at FITV, Amy worked on many local stories and made the jump to the radio to test herself in a new medium and get a taste for daily news. Her favourite part of the job is being able to represent the community when putting their questions to FIG officers or MLA’s.
Amy hails from the Black Country in the West Midlands and spends a lot of time trying to get rid of her accent whilst reading the news…
She is also training to become a retained fire fighter with the Falkland Islands Fire and Rescue Service, so has plenty of experience of a situation heating up!
