The plastic notes will feature two kings, King Charles III and a king penguin.
Falklands notes were last printed in the 1980s and a shortage of £5 notes spurred a public consultation on the design of new notes last year.
Native plants and animals was the favourite topic returned and manufacturer De La Rue tasked with turning the theme into a reality. A working group made up of locals was also involved in the process.
The new notes, which will be entered into circulation this Falklands Day, feature King Charles III on the face alongside black-browed albatrosses and a king penguin panel.
The back shows off the national flower of the Falklands, the pale maiden, Steeple Jason Island, and five species of penguin.
The same design will feature on the new £10 and £20 notes. There are enough of the old-style £50 notes to last the next 90 years so these will not replaced.
The polymer notes will replace the old cotton ones and include security features such as the transparent king penguin window with iridescent ink, ultraviolet designs and infrared inks.
It’s anticipated the old notes will be withdrawn from circulation in 2026.
